Destroy application resources
Waypoint applications and their installed add-ons use infrastructure created by Terraform in an HCP Terraform workspace. Platform engineers and application developers can destroy these resources directly within HCP Waypoint. Uninstalling an add-on from an application and destroying an application in HCP Waypoint also destroys the associated infrastructure in HCP Terraform.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to uninstall a Waypoint add-on and destroy an application.
Uninstall the add-on
Navigate to the Installed add-ons page for your Waypoint application and click on the Uninstall button from the 3 dots menu. A confirmation dialog will appear. Type UNINSTALL
in the field and click Uninstall.
You will be redirected back to the Installed add-ons page and see a message informing you that the uninstallation was successful.
Destroy the application
Navigate to the Applications page and click on the application you want to destroy.
Click on the Manage button and then the Delete Application button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Type DELETE
in the field and click Delete.
HCP Waypoint will redirect you back to the Applications page and display a message informing you that the destruction was successful.
Delete the Route 53 hosted zone
Navigate to the Route 53 hosted zone page in AWS and click on the zone with your domain name. On the details page, click on the Delete zone button at the top, type delete
in the dialog's field, and click the Delete button.
